Blog No. 8

Well that certainly got things going.  You don’t have time in a two minute TV or radio interview to give the entirety of your views so I’ll attempt to give a slightly longer explanation here of my feelings on Israel and the current incursion/massacre in Gaza.

Firstly I have no particular affection for Hamas, Hizbullah or the current leadership in Iran I am not even that keen on Fatah and have always felt that Arafat was a disgrace.  It is one of the many tragedies surrounding the ordinary Palestinian people that they have never had the leadership that their courage and fortitude deserves.  However sadly hundreds of years of colonialism followed by over forty years of occupation by a repressive military power, crushing poverty, broken promises and constant humiliation do not necessarily make you clear-sighted, tolerant or sensible twenty four hours a day.  It is a testament to those poor people that they have remained half-way sane despite all that they have suffered.  Remember ten years of a pacifist campaign during the first Intifada which cost them hundreds of lives, gained them nothing, due both to Israeli intransigence and the incompetence of their own leadership. If there had been a Palestinian Mandela would things have turned out differently?  I’m not sure they would, there has always been massive resistence in Israel to making any concessions whatsoever.

Secondly if I mostly criticise Israel it is because Israel is clearly doing most of the killing (by a factor of well over 100 to 1 at the moment) and because Israel is an extension of the developed west, the society of which I am a part and over which I have a tiny bit of influence.

As an earlier resistance leader confronting a brutal military occupation of Palestine stated in Luke 6:27-31, the golden rule by which every person and every nation should abide “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Now any of you who want to continue this argument can sod off, there are better places to do it than here.

"Like I said before this is not the place to have a row so for the moment
I´m going to suspend the comments section.  Sorry to any genuine fans but
I guess this is what you get if you stick your head above the parapet on
the internet.  Thank you for those of you who sent messages of support.  I
will continue to try and bring a little peace and kindness to this
terrible situation and I hope you will too.
All the best Alexei."

Aagh shame-man, i think poor alexi was upset by all the comments.

You must'nt think u can tell us to Sod off and expect everything to go back to normal. You will always be remembered by your fellow jews for your cowardly betrayal. Oh sorry, I forgot are u actually jewish? or would u prefer not to be known as a jew? I hope that every Jewish London cabby recognises your face and looks down on u when they see u. Oh sorry again, I remembered u are too liberal to take taxi's preferring the proletariat's bicycle.

I honestly expected a better defence of your position than the poor excuse of a reply you gave us in your latest blog entry. Quite hilarious that you are now trying to tell everyone that you dont actually support Hamas or Hizbollah. Thats very nice of u Alexei Ahmadinejad (oops, typo).

The blame for all the hardship and suffering that the palestinians have been subjected to has unfortunately been caused by the palestinian leadership and the arab leaders over the years. The fact that they would not recognise our right to the state of the Israel in 1948, is their own fault. We did not ask them to attack us and cause massive dispersion of the civilian population (both arab and jew). This and the wars subsequently when they tried to destroy us made the Palestinian's position even worse. Israel even evacuated Gaza recently to allow the Palestinians there own area. What did they do to thank us, they started killing each other (Fatah & Hamas) and started firing rockets at civilian areas in Israel.

I think you forgot this in the lovely little summary you gave us. Maybe u and your mate Ken should go for some history lessons.

I am proud to call myself a Zionist in these hard times. Israel is an amazing country, it is a democracy and a home to jews and arabs alike. Hopefully one day they can sort out these differences and we can all live in peace. You and your mates demonstrating at the Israeli embassy are going to do nothing to move Israel or the Jewish people. We are all behind Israel 100% Am Israel Chai

Maybe u will one day visit Israel (probably on a boat to Gaza). Unless they revoke your right-of-return (if they have'nt allready done so). So Alexei go back to your little documentries and your theatre and leave politics to real people. That is if anyone in the jewish-run media still wants to speak to you or give u any work (i hope not).

Cheers for now...Buddy

"Sod off", Gosh Alexie you have remained a good little Stalinist. Unfortunately having used your 'celebrity' you can hardly complain if people come to your nice celebrity blog and tell you that they think you are an assinine disengenuous dickhead.
On the topic of celebrity I do think that it was clever of you to get so much free publicity for your, lets face it, rather flagging career. Of course the paradox is that what you were supporting is a fanatically religious, homophobic, chauvenistic, rabidly ant-semitic movement whilst Israel is the only country in the middle east where Alexie Sayle could be Alexie Sayle and not end up in prison.
Anyway over here in Jerusalem, Israel ,we will continue to deal with the real situation of trying to achieve peace in the middle east (and stay alive to enjoy it) whilst you think about where you would like to have dinner and to which cause you can hitch your wagon next. In case you would like some ideas the following are all pretty interesting and in most instances the number of people being killed far exceeds Palestinian casualties;
Turkey and the PPK
Islamic terrorists in Somalia
Islamic terrorists in Sudan
Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan
Islamic terrorists in Iraq
Islamic terrorists in the Philppines
Well, is it just me or do I detect a pattern here?
Have to go now now,
Bye.

Shalom Jonathan, good posting!

It's funny how alexie has removed all the comments from the previous blog. Just shows what a coward he is. He couldnt finish what he started.

At least we have succeeded in hijacked his blog for the night :-)

I hope that we dont have anymore casualties on the Israeli side, seems like some tough fighting ahead. Well our thoughts are with them.

Anyway cheers for now. Be safe in Israel.

Shalom to you too.

South African Jew, what a brave warrior you are, you 'hijacked' a blog. I bet you have a blog of your own, give us the address, mate.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterEvelyn

Evelyn, the hijack was by default. Alexie ran away. Well that's what you expect from rent a crowd. Over here in Jerusalem, Israel, we are in in it for the long run. We've been here for 2500 years and we'll remain for a lot longer.

"Now any of you who want to continue this argument can sod off, there are better places to do it than here."

Sod off, huh? Why don't you go "f" yourself, you filthy terrorist-loving prick. You are the one who started this by opening your loud yap and speaking out in favour of the death cultists.

Muslims have been trying to either slaughter all Jews or make them subservient to them since Mohammed. Wake up, jackass!

Become enlightened, you ignorant fool, and read this little slice of nirvana from the Hamas charter:

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it."

Perhaps you support this policy of Hamas. I, and others of conscience, do not.

Asked whether the campaign was working, Palmor said it was too early to tell. Still, as the attack was beginning yesterday ... the message, whether due to Israel's campaign or not, was being publicly repeated around the world.

(Israel mounts PR campaign to blame Hamas for Gaza destruction.)

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPaul

Yes, Paul and your point is what exactly?
Israel runs its PR campaign, Hamas runs its PR campaign and Alexei Sayle runs his PR campaign. I am a willing participant in the first, after all I live in that country and am proud of it. You are I assume a willing dupe in the second and Alexei bubala is in way over his head.
Gosh you're sharp.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJonathan

My point, Jonathan, is that you are a Nazi, and exactly like Adolf Hitler in every respect.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPaul

Alexei - just a shame you weren't so clear on your views when being filmed by Sky News and being broadcast around the world. All you managed to achieve was damaging both your own reputation and that of the UK jews.

I still can't phathom out how you could march side by side with protesters wearing Hamas and Hezbollah headwear and clothing - can you not see what you have done?

Very sad.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAdam

Paul, thank you for displaying your true colours, your vileness and your stupidity are now on display for everyone to see.
Alexei,I could have told you that you were running with the wrong crowd but I doubt if you would have listened.
Now Paul I am going to explain something to you. I am going to talk slowly, not because I am being patronising but because you seem to have genuine difficulty following any kind of rational thought.
1. I am not a Nazi. I am in fact a socialist of long standing ( not, G-d forbid a national socialist).
2. I am not at all like Adolf Hitler. I don't have his moustache and frankly paint a hell of a lot better. You plainly have no idea who he was, what his beliefs were and what he did. Have you ever, ever read anything beyond the back of a cereal packet?
3. I have actually met real NeoNazis. Several of them had to visit the emergency room of a nearby hospital shortly afterwards. You were probably looking for organic muesli at the time.
4. You are a little shit.
Is that clear now?

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJonathan

Paul, thank you for displaying your true colours, your vileness and your stupidity are now on display for everyone to see.

You can talk, you genocidal Austrian bastard!

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPaul

Paul,
What happened? Are you on prescription medication and forgot to take your pills today or are you using recreational drugs which have been mixed with something nasty. Call the Samaritans, they may be able to help you.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJonathan

I'm not going to take advice about drugs from you, Jonathan, since I have reason to believe you've been receiving regular injections of methamphetamine from your so-called 'personal physician' Dr Theodor Morell.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPaul

Are all of your friends as delusional as you? It must make for an interesting party since you are never certain exactly who is going to come. Anyway the good news is that you have managed to single handedly do more damage to the Palestinian cause than any Israel advocate could ever hope for. As we say over here, Hasher K'oach.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJonathan

Me delusional? What about you? Holed up in your bunker, issuing orders to divisions that don't exist. I've seen 'Downfall', mate. I've got your number. You drug-addled anti-semite loon.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPaul

Crap film. It looks like you have the same scriptwriter.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJonathan

Literary criticism from the author of Mein Kampf? I don't think so. Sort your own prose style out first. Nazi.

January 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPaul

Why are you so fixated on Nazi imagery? It can't be healthy. Were you molested by a member (no pun intended) of the National Front as a young boy.
In the meantime I have just had a call from my friend Mahmoud. He is a Palestinian Arab andwe have been mates for about 25 years. He used to be PFLP in his youth but he is now mainstream Fatah. We meet for coffee every Wednesday morning. We have differing views on certain things but agree on many more. I told him what I was doing and he went on line to look at this page. He thinks you are a cretin.
