Blog No. 22a

Thank you all in Australia for your comments on my appearance on Q&A, it was hard staying awake during the debate on coalmining.

Sadly my only two live appearances were last night at the World's Funniest Island on Cackatoo Island.  The way I understood it, it had been a naval base on a rock that had now been converted to some kind of lovely eco park but in fact it was just a dilapidated naval base with signs warning you not to enter some parts because of radiation.

This was very bizarre - doing a book reading to a thousand people in a gigantic building that resembled the set for the film "Enemy at the Gates" which was about the battle of Stalingrad and two snipers stalking each other
through the ruins of the factory district.

I thought your advocation of a boycott of Israel shameful. You've swallowed the left/Islamist agitprop whole. You are a traitor and I regret having to watch you on ABC and enjoying your comedic work from the past couple of decades.

Was a good show, while I have different views on Israel, I think you handled the question very well, I've always respected you for taking a stand. Thanks for livening up Q&A and it was great to see you again in these parts of the world. And thanks for all the good books, I just missed you for the signing of Overtaken in Melbourne in 2005, but nabbed a copy after you'd left, and read Weeping Women and Mr Roberts this year - gotta say Harriet is one of my fav characters! Keep it up.

I enjoyed seeing you on Q&A and i apologise for the fact that you had to sit next to the Liberal Party's version of Billy Bunter albeit a skinny one in Christopher Pine. I apologise for Nick Swan's comments and i think and i wonder why Nick Swan called you a traitor when in fact you are a Pom. Enjoy the rest of the stay

lol I support your views on Israel ill even go further fuck the bastards why does the world have to forgive them for what they have done make them give back the land fuckers and put the people responsible up for each murder I say bring in the daleks efficient killing machines we could easily produce affective numbers and with unmanned aerial assistance the human race could be culled to a sustainable population possibly even kept that way for a few thousand years

Finally saw you on Q&A thanks to the wonders of ABC iView. While I disagree with your take on Israel and its origins, it was great to see you liven up the show. I too was falling asleep during the coal-mining discussion.

I just thoiught I'd tell you that, 20 years ago, when I was doing the Aussie working-holiday thing in London, my mate Harry (living in Southall) told me he had a landlord just like Jerzy Balowski.

Scottie - WTF?

Was great to hear your views on the Israeli/Palestine debacle and to come out so strongly in support of a boycott, especially liked the point that despite countless requests the colonialist mentality to continue stealing Palestinian land remains unabated and should be dealt with much like the South African Apartheid regime was brought down.
